Adamant is a short story written by Anthony Hadley for Fanfic Week 2017. It is told from the perspective of the CIA officers mentioned briefly in the Battlezone Manual, and follows their investigation into the Russian biometal program.

History[]

Hadley started work on the story on October 1st 2017 with the intention of completing it by the end of October 7th,[1] but quickly found other obligations obstructed its writing. When it became apparent that he would not have enough a workable narrative by the end of the competition, even after its extension, he decided to release what he had on October 15th and write new chapters periodically.[2]

Continuity[]

Adamant makes several additions to the Battlezone lore that tie separate loose plot threads together and cover existing plot holes; B.S. Case 1752 are described to be aware of Jon Beardsly by way of letters he wrote to the US government, Stahl's involvement with the case prior to his work with the NSDF is depicted, and a prototype U2 is used to explain how the aerial photograph cited in the Battlezone manual is dated before the aircraft fully entered production.

Trivia[]
