Manson's Arrival is a short story by Morné Geringer that tells of Henry Manson's arrival at Eagle's Nest One during the biometal war.[1]

Synopsis Edit

Having left the U.S. Navy Seals' Covert Special Operatives just over a year ago, Henry Manson arrives on Luna at Eagle's Nest One and reflects on the events leading up to his arrival as he struggles to adjust to lunar gravity on his way towards the Command Tower. After meeting the base's commanding officer, Major Richard Greeley, he is assigned quarters and introduced to the troops by 2nd Lieutenant James Wright.

Elsewhere on the moon, Lieutenant Grigory Kostylev returns to the CCA main base, between the Sea of Tranquility and Sea of Vapors, after spending several hours eavesdropping on NSDF Scavengers. The CCA has been seeking out American Scavengers with the hope of using them to track them back to American outposts, an operation that has thus far proven costly, time-consuming, and ineffective. After returning to base he shares a drink with Pavel Zelenov, who was conscripted from the same Mig squadron as he was.

Continuity Edit

  • The story, set in 1969, portrays Manson as a Captain in the NSDF. Manson was ten years old at the time, and would sign up to the ISDF from the U.S. Navy Seals in 1980.[2]

Notes Edit

  • Manson's Arrival describes biometal as organic and blood-warm.
