Planetary treason is a crime defined by the AAN that covers acts against Earth in general. Its applications can be wide-ranging, from more serious acts such as direct attack on the AAN or ISDF, or aiding and abetting their enemies, to less serious acts such as the unauthorized distribution or copying of the ISDF Field Manual.[1]

All AAN member nations bar the United States had abolished treason as a capital offence by 1995, but it is possible that the AAN maintains the possibility of capital punishment for planetary treason due to the potentially serious scope of the offence.
